Changes at the top for Ostrovok and GetTaxi

0 21 August 2014

Anatoly Sharifulin, head of mobile development at Russian hotel bookings service Ostrovok, has left the company. He announced his departure via Facebook. He plans to relax until September, when he will make a decision about what to do next, although he has written on Facebook that he is open to new partnerships. He did not state the reason for his departure.

This is not the first big departure from Ostrovok this year. In May Kirill Makharinsky, company president and one of the founders of the service, also left. It is believed that he may now be launching a new startup in London.

GetTaxi Russia have also lost a big name, with CEO Vladimir Marinovich leaving his position. He has been replaced by Vitaly Krylov who was previously the company’s St Petersburg head. It appears that Marinovich is now engaged in a different project: a chain of culinary boutiques according to his Facebook.

Another Russian IT company recently lost its CEO when Mikhail Smolyanov left Megaplan in order to join Megaproryv, a training centre for small and medium sized businesses.
